What’s new in Vögele Dash-5 pavers and which parts are different

If you work with Vögele pavers, you’ve probably heard the buzz around the new Dash-5 generation. Unveiled at Bauma 2022 and most recently showcased at ConExpo 2026 in Las Vegas, the Dash-5 lineup is Vögele’s biggest upgrade in years — and it comes with some important changes to parts and components that every operator and parts buyer needs to know about.
In this post, we break down exactly what’s new, what’s changed, and which parts are different from the older Dash-3 generation.

What Is the Vögele Dash-5 Generation?
The Dash-5 is Vögele’s latest generation of road pavers, built around four core pillars:

User-friendly operation
Process automation
Economic efficiency
Sustainability (lower emissions and fuel consumption)

The Dash-5 lineup currently includes models across multiple classes:

5 Major Changes in the Dash-5 — And What It Means for Parts

  1. New ErgoPlus 5 Operator Console
The Dash-5 replaces the older ErgoPlus 3 console with the all-new ErgoPlus 5. This is a completely redesigned operator and screed console with:

Optional touchscreen display (Premium Touch) for digital applications
Improved legroom and storage design
Integrated real-time machine data display
SmartWheel steering for more precise control

Parts impact: If you’re replacing or upgrading console components, ErgoPlus 5 parts are not backward compatible with ErgoPlus 3. Make sure you’re ordering the correct console parts for your generation.

  1. New Paver Access Control (PAC) System
One of the biggest new features is PAC — Paver Access Control. This system allows the operator to start up and shut down the entire paver from ground level, including:

Switching on lights
Starting the diesel engine
Booting the machine control system
Raising/lowering the screed with auto-lock

Parts impact: The PAC system includes new electronic control modules, wiring harnesses, and screed-mounted control units that are unique to Dash-5 machines. These are completely new parts not found on Dash-3 models.

  1. New VR 600 and VF 600 Screeds
This is one of the most significant parts changes for the highway-class Dash-5 models. The SUPER 2000-5 X and 2003-5 X come with two brand-new screeds:
VR 600 — Extensions mounted behind the basic screed

Redesigned guidance system for easier concrete profile paving
Very low height for better auger tunnel visibility
Paving widths: 10 ft to 25 ft 9 in

VF 600 — Extensions mounted in front of the basic screed

Optimized material flow for even spreading
Ideal for jobs with varying working widths
Paving widths: 10 ft to 25 ft 5 in

Both screeds can be tilted up to 10% for North American paving requirements.
Parts impact: All screed wear parts, heating elements, extension components, and sensors for the VR 600 and VF 600 are new and model-specific. These do not interchange with older AB-series screeds from Dash-3 machines.

  1. New Power Tunnel System
The Dash-5 introduces the Power Tunnel — a hydraulically extendable limiting plate for the auger tunnel. It features:

A pivotable limiting plate that can swivel up to 60°
Automatic adjustment that syncs with hydraulic screed extensions
Better mix height control in front of the screed

Parts impact: The Power Tunnel assembly, hydraulic actuators, and pivot components are all new Dash-5 specific parts. Auger tunnel parts from Dash-3 models will not fit.

  1. Upgraded EcoPlus Emissions Package
The Dash-5 has an improved EcoPlus low-emissions package with:

A redesigned speed-controlled cooling fan
More accurate RPM calculation
Significantly reduced fuel consumption
Lower CO2 and noise emissions
New four-cylinder motor on select models (uses less fuel with same power output)

Parts impact: The new fan assembly, engine components, and emissions-related parts are generation-specific. Always verify compatibility before ordering replacement engine or cooling system parts.
